Australian Bird Series

I've decided I really need something to focus on in my art and what I've come up with is to do a series of oil paintings of Australian bird portraits.  The first bird I have chosen is a cockatiel.  This is actually my cockatiel Jakey or he used to be at least, he actually lives with my Mum now.  Oil on Gessobord panel, 6" x 6".

    Beautiful!! They are such cheeky characters too! I have had a couple of these birds in the past and I did actually name one them Cheeky LOL!

      Thanks so much Lyn, glad you like the cockatiel painting :) It shows up a bit harsh here on the blog, the painting is more soft in real life. Thanks for still following my blog, your comments are always appreciated :)

    This almost looks like a photo, the feathers are painted so wonderfully!
    They are wonderful birds, lots of personality!
